Trip to Roger Whittaker concert in Linz - 17 May 2003

My ticket, as did this poster, claimed Roger was due to play at the Intersport Arena in Linz.

However, after two bus journeys and a long uphill walk I arrived there to find that the concert was at the Brucknerhaus, about a 5 minute walk from my hotel. Luckily some other fans gave me a lift. After waiting in a lengthy queue to get replacement tickets, the concert started more or less on time. Once I got used to hearing him singing in German I thoroughly enjoyed it.

As for the rest of my stay in Linz; managed some pleasant runs alongside the Danube.

Went up on Europe's steepest adhesion railway to the fabulous church at Postlingberg.

Reached the top just as a thunderstorm broke out with huge hailstones. View below shows the storm after it had passed us.

Rounded off my stay at the opening of the impressive Lentos art museum on the 18th May. This shows some of the crowds waiting to get in being entertained by live bands and interviews.
